What music do you listen to?

music writing

When I’m writing, the earplugs go in and the world gets blocked out. I’ve discovered this isn’t an uncommon phenomenon. One podcast I listen to, the author presenter listens to rap music. Another author listens to opera. Somewhere along the way, I picked up a nugget of wisdom…choose a new playlist for every book you write.

For book 2, I plan to choose a new playlist. But for book 1, the music constantly playing in the background was an amalgamation of Opera, instrumental, and celtic. Yep. The whole break glass, bagpipe, panflutes, and Mozart concoction.

I love music.

Right now, I’m listening to The Piano Guys: Wonders album.

What to choose for book 2?

I can’t write (or at least not very well) when someone is singing. I start writing out lyrics! I’m toying with the idea of The Piano Guys: Uncharted, Lyndsey Stirling, and Two Cellos. Who knows…it’ll probably be all 3.

Why is music important? Why do we use it to clean the house or drive down the street? And have you ever noticed that most people have a definite preference? Very seldom is someone lukewarm about musical stylings. At least among the people I know. Somewhere along the way, someone told me that “music is the language of the soul.” I completely agree!

Well, I’m off to take care of re-writing and editing…until next time.

God’s grace and peace to you!
